| Practice area | [Family Violence & Protection Orders](https://ailawframework.com/practice/family-violence-and-protection-orders.md) |
| Human involvement | Yellow: Lawyer and AI draft together |
| How AI is used | Working from the lawyer's instructions and the chronology, populate the prescribed application form for the relevant court, select the standard conditions from the statutory list, and draft the schedule of supporting documents and service steps. Any condition outside the prescribed list is written by the lawyer. |
| What the lawyer must review | The lawyer confirms who is entitled to apply, that the relationship falls inside the statutory definition, that this court has jurisdiction, and that every condition sought exists in the local scheme and will work in the client's actual life. |

## Checking plan

**Source-by-source verification**

Trace relied-on content to independent sources and check for relevant material the output has missed.

- What the AI does: Working from the lawyer's instructions and the chronology, populate the prescribed application form for the relevant court, select the standard conditions from the statutory list, and draft the schedule of supporting documents and service steps. Any condition outside the prescribed list is written by the lawyer.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer confirms who is entitled to apply, that the relationship falls inside the statutory definition, that this court has jurisdiction, and that every condition sought exists in the local scheme and will work in the client's actual life.
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Confirm the applicant is a person entitled to apply under the local statute — the person in need of protection, a police officer, a parent or guardian, or a person with written consent — that any authority or consent is on the file, and that a respondent under 18 is not being filed in the adult jurisdiction.
2. Check the relationship pleaded against the statutory definition; a housemate, a carer, a relative by kinship and a former partner's new partner are inside some schemes and outside others.
3. Check every condition sought against the prescribed list for this scheme and against where the client actually lives, works and collects the children from, before it is filed.
4. Decide whether a child should be named as a protected person, and check that naming the child does not conflict with a current parenting order or cut across contact the client wants preserved.
5. Confirm no protected address, school, workplace or telephone detail appears anywhere in the pack that will be served on the respondent.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
