| Human involvement | Yellow: Lawyer and AI draft together |
| How AI is used | From the draft notice, filing, or web entry, list any name, address, or other detail that would reveal the protected person's identity or location, and whether the protected person has asked to be told of a registration. Do not decide what may be published. |
| What the lawyer must review | The lawyer decides what may be published or sent. 18 U.S.C. § 2265(d)(3) says a State, Indian tribe, or territory shall not make available publicly on the internet any information about the registration, filing of a petition for, or issuance of a protection order, restraining order, or injunction, in the issuing or enforcing jurisdiction, if publication would be likely to reveal publicly the identity or location of the protected party. The same paragraph allows sharing of court-generated and law-enforcement-generated information in secure governmental registries for enforcement. Section 2265(d)(1) says the enforcing jurisdiction shall not notify the restrained party that the order has been registered or filed unless the protected party asks for that notice. Section 2265(d)(2) says a qualifying order is entitled to full faith and credit even if it was not registered in the enforcing jurisdiction. Separately, 34 U.S.C. § 12291 defines personally identifying information to include information likely to disclose the location of a victim, and bars a VAWA grantee from releasing it except as that section allows. |

## Checking plan

- What the AI does: From the draft notice, filing, or web entry, list any name, address, or other detail that would reveal the protected person's identity or location, and whether the protected person has asked to be told of a registration. Do not decide what may be published.
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 22 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Notes

- Full faith and credit under section 2265(a) still depends on jurisdiction and on reasonable notice and an opportunity to be heard under subsection (b). Registration is not a precondition.
- A state address-confidentiality program was not opened. Do not describe one.
