| How AI is used | List the court, the date of entry, and the principal the judgment states. Do not state an interest rate and do not compute interest. |
| What the lawyer must review | You apply the rate. Section 1961(a) allows interest on a money judgment in a civil case recovered in a district court, from the date of entry, at a rate equal to the weekly average 1-year constant maturity Treasury yield published by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for the calendar week preceding the date of the judgment. The Director of the Administrative Office gives notice of that rate. Section 1961(b) computes interest daily to the date of payment and compounds it annually, except as provided in 28 U.S.C. § 2516(b) and 31 U.S.C. § 1304(b), which were not opened. Section 1961(c)(1) says the section does not apply to an internal revenue tax case. Execution for the interest may be levied by the marshal where the law of the state where the court sits allows execution for interest on a state-court judgment. A state-court judgment uses state law. That law was not opened. |

## Checking plan

- What the AI does: List the court, the date of entry, and the principal the judgment states. Do not state an interest rate and do not compute interest.
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 22 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Notes

- Do not type a Treasury yield from memory. Use the rate the Administrative Office published for that week.
- Costs are not interest. No costs statute was opened.
