## Key facts

| Fact | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Practice area | [Debt Recovery & Civil Enforcement](https://ailawframework.com/practice/debt-recovery-and-civil-enforcement.md) |
| Human involvement | Red: Lawyer writes; AI may check, clarify or collect data |
| How AI is used | List only the parties, the balance, the installment dates, and the other terms the lawyer has already written down. Do not write a clause of the agreement. |
| What the lawyer must review | You write every clause that will be signed. Model Rule 1.4(b) requires an explanation sufficient for the client to make an informed decision about those terms. If a debt collector will send the agreement while collecting a consumer debt, read § 1692a for who is a debt collector and § 1692g before it goes out. Section 1692g(d) says a formal pleading in a civil action is not an initial communication. This agreement is not that pleading. This check opened no statute that sets the clauses of a settlement. Formal Opinion 512 applies if client information is put into a tool to compare drafts. |

## Checking plan

- What the AI does: List only the parties, the balance, the installment dates, and the other terms the lawyer has already written down. Do not write a clause of the agreement.
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 22 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Notes

- A creditor collecting its own commercial debt is not, on these pages, a debt collector under § 1692a. Confirm the role before applying the Act.
- Regulation F's validation-notice section was not the source for this agreement. Open it before a consumer validation notice is sent.
