| How AI is used | From the documents the lawyer selects, list in a table each candidate fact and each candidate document, with the document name and page. Add no argument and no comment on whether the fact is true. Leave a column for the lawyer to mark include or omit. |
| What the lawyer must review | You choose what is worth asking the other party to admit, and you serve the requests. Rule 36 lets a party serve a written request to admit, for the pending action only, the truth of matters within Rule 26(b)(1) relating to facts, the application of law to fact, or opinions about either, and the genuineness of described documents. Each matter must be separately stated. A matter is admitted unless, within 30 days after service, the other party serves a signed written answer or objection, unless a shorter or longer time is stipulated or ordered. An admission is conclusively established unless the court permits withdrawal or amendment, and it cannot be used against the party in any other proceeding. Rule 11 does not apply to a discovery request. You sign under Rule 26(g). Formal Opinion 512 requires you to check generated text before you rely on it, and to keep client information confidential. |

## Checking plan

- What the AI does: From the documents the lawyer selects, list in a table each candidate fact and each candidate document, with the document name and page. Add no argument and no comment on whether the fact is true. Leave a column for the lawyer to mark include or omit.
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 22 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Notes

- State courts use their own rules. A request for admission in state court is not governed by Rule 36.
- A request to admit the genuineness of a document must be accompanied by a copy unless the document has already been furnished.
- Do not put the client's documents into a public tool.
