## Checking plan

**Lawyer-led judgement**

This is a collection exercise. Whether a claim is misleading is a legal assessment under the Australian Consumer Law and is not made in the table.

- What the AI does: Extract environmental claims from the web pages or deck the lawyer has identified, and list the evidence the client holds beside each claim.
- What the lawyer does: Assess each claim against the evidence and the Australian Consumer Law. Decide what must change before publication.
- Who reviews: Lawyer competent in the matter and the forum
- Basis: Planning guidance checked against the linked public sources on 22 September 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.
- Why: The traffic light follows the consequence of an error and how much of the output the lawyer must check before it is used.
- Restriction: The lawyer leads the substantive decision. Any assistance stays inside the preparation described for this task.
- Written for: AU

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Quote the claim. Do not paraphrase it into something easier to defend.
2. Put the evidence next to it or write “not provided”.
3. Do not add a traffic light for legality.
4. The lawyer decides what can be published.

## Notes

- Suggested working checks from the linked public sources. Read the source and confirm it applies to this forum and this date. The checks do not approve software or record that the work is done.

## Practical guide

Jurisdiction: Commonwealth consumer law, and the place where the claim is published

**Deliverable**: A two-column table of the exact claim and the evidence located, with no legal conclusion.

**Inputs**

- The pages or deck
- The substantiation files the client provided

**Example**: “Carbon neutral” with no certificate in the bundle is recorded as “claim present, certificate not in the bundle”.

**Stop and escalate when**

- The draft rewrites the claim into a softer line and presents it as cleared.
- Evidence is described that you have not seen.

Checked 2026-09-22.
