| Human involvement | Yellow: Lawyer and AI draft together |
| How AI is used | Set each release clause beside this person's other rights: further treatment, other defendants and statutory benefits. Do not decide that a clause is effective, and do not calculate a refund. |
| What the lawyer must review | Check every clause. The client signs the deed. Decide whether this clause purports to exclude Part 3-5 liability. Such a term is void under s 150. Require section 33V approval. A signature does not replace it. If the person is under a disability, r 15.08 approval is also required. You write any affidavit. |

## Checking plan

**Verify against sources**

Part 4A approval under s 33V is the Victorian group-settlement rule. Rule 15.08 is the further Victorian rule for a person under disability. Neither is a Federal Court rule.

- What the AI does: Set each release clause beside this person's other rights: further treatment, other defendants and statutory benefits. Do not decide that a clause is effective, and do not calculate a refund.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer decides what the Victorian release may give up.
- Who reviews: Lawyer competent in this practice area
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 23 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. List treatment, other defendants and statutory benefits the clause would release.
2. Flag a term that purports to exclude Part 3-5.
3. Do not treat s 33V approval as a reading of the individual's release.
4. Leave Medicare, Centrelink and NDIS refunds to their own tasks.

## Notes

- If the work reaches the Supreme Court of Victoria, Practice Note SC GEN 25 requires the lawyer to verify output. Do not put health records into a public AI tool. One AI tool cannot verify another.
- The r 15.08 supporting affidavit is not served. The lawyer writes it.

## Practical guide

Jurisdiction: Supreme Court of Victoria, Part 4A, and r 15.08 if the person is under a disability

**Deliverable**: A clause comparison settled by the lawyer before the client is asked to sign.

**Inputs**

- The draft release
- The person's other claims
- Whether the person is under a disability

**Example**: Illustrative example: The deed releases all claims for the product and also releases a treating hospital. The lawyer marks the hospital release for instructions. Section 33V approval of the group settlement does not decide that clause.

**Stop and escalate when**

- The client is asked to sign before the clauses are checked.
- A refund figure is calculated in this task.
