## Checking plan

**Lawyer-led judgement**

The Tribunal’s 2026 practice direction requires verification, an explanation if asked, and disclosure in stated cases. A second use of the same tool is not verification.

- What the AI does: Extract citations, chronology rows and any translated passages from a draft Tribunal document into a checking list.
- What the lawyer does: Verify the list in a real source, decide whether disclosure is required, and place any disclosure at the start of the document.
- Who reviews: Lawyer competent in the matter and the forum
- Basis: Second research pass on 22 September 2026. Confirm the instrument is still current.
- Why: The traffic light follows the consequence of getting the forum’s rule wrong.
- Restriction: The lawyer leads this decision. Assistance stays inside the preparation described for the task.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Confirm the proceeding is in the Administrative Review Tribunal and open its generative AI practice direction.
2. Verify authorities, evidence references, chronologies and country information in a source that is not the tool which produced them.
3. Do not use generative AI to make up, exaggerate, change or add to a person’s evidence.
4. If disclosure is required, name the tool, where it was used, and who checked the output.

## Notes

- Suggested working checks from the linked public source. Read that source before you rely on the check. This is not a record that the check has been done.

## Practical guide

Jurisdiction: Administrative Review Tribunal

**Deliverable**: A checking list, and a disclosure sentence if the direction requires one.

**Inputs**

- The draft application, submission, statement or chronology
- The Tribunal’s generative AI practice direction

**Example**: A chronology prepared with a tool needs a short disclosure naming the tool and who checked it. A statutory declaration must still be the person’s own recollection. The tool must not add to that evidence.

**Stop and escalate when**

- A citation has been checked only by asking the tool that produced it.
- The draft adds facts to a witness’s evidence.

Checked 2026-09-22.
