| Human involvement | Yellow: Lawyer and AI draft together |
| How AI is used | Compare the draft with section 66 and list anything beyond name, contact details and area of practice, including any no win, no fee line. Do not publish it. |
| What the lawyer must review | Test anything beyond name and contact details against section 66. Treat a no win, no fee advertisement as section 66's example of a contravention. Decide whether an own-website line is inside section 66(2). Approve the final copy and the medium before it goes out. |

## Checking plan

**Queensland advertisement check**

The tool marks the draft against section 66. The lawyer decides whether each line and each medium is allowed.

- What the AI does: Compare the draft with section 66 and list anything beyond name, contact details and area of practice, including any no win, no fee line. Do not publish it.
- What the lawyer does: Decide whether the copy is inside section 66, including the own-website exception.
- Who reviews: Lawyer competent in this practice area
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 23 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Advertising of personal injury services is limited to name, contact details and area of practice or speciality, by an allowable publication method, unless section 66(2) applies.
2. A no win, no fee or other speculative basis is the Act's example of a contravention of section 66(1). The maximum penalty is 300 penalty units.
3. The practice's own website may include a statement about the law of negligence and a person's legal rights, and the conditions on which the practice will act. The lawyer decides whether the line is inside that exception.
4. The Queensland Law Society says radio, television, cinema and recorded telephone messages are not allowed, and that print and another website are limited to name, contact details and areas of practice, without pictures or self-promotion.

## Notes

- The Law Society says the practice's own website may state the conditions of acting, which can include no win no fee arrangements. The lawyer still tests that line against section 66(2). The Act is the rule. The Society page is guidance.
- The Legal Services Commission advertising guideline page did not return the guideline body. It is not used.

## Practical guide

Jurisdiction: Queensland. Advertising of personal injury services under the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002.

**Deliverable**: A marked advertisement for the lawyer's decision on content and medium.

**Inputs**

- The draft copy
- The medium, including whether it is the practice's own website

**Example**: Illustrative example: A radio script offers personal injury services on a no win, no fee basis. The lawyer stops it. Section 66 and the Law Society page do not allow that medium or that basis.

**Stop and escalate when**

- The copy goes beyond name, contact details and area of practice and section 66(2) has not been considered.
- The medium is radio, television, cinema or a recorded telephone message.
