| How AI is used | List the disclosure the lawyer describes, the recipient, and which of Rule 1.6(b)(1) through (b)(7) the lawyer is testing. Do not say the permission applies. |
| What the lawyer must review | You decide whether you may reveal the information. Rule 1.6(a) bars revelation unless the client gives informed consent, the disclosure is impliedly authorized to carry out the representation, or paragraph (b) permits it. Paragraph (b) permits a revelation only to the extent the lawyer reasonably believes necessary, and only for the seven purposes it lists: to prevent reasonably certain death or substantial bodily harm; to prevent a crime or fraud in the circumstances (b)(2) states; to prevent, mitigate, or rectify injury in the circumstances (b)(3) states; to secure advice about compliance with the rules; to establish a claim or defense in a controversy with the client or a charge or claim based on the representation; to comply with other law or a court order; or to detect and resolve conflicts from a change of employment or of firm ownership, if the revelation would not compromise the attorney-client privilege or otherwise prejudice the client. The tool does not decide that your belief is reasonable or that a purpose is met. No Australian conduct-rule exception is used. |

## Checking plan

- What the AI does: List the disclosure the lawyer describes, the recipient, and which of Rule 1.6(b)(1) through (b)(7) the lawyer is testing. Do not say the permission applies.
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 22 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Notes

- Implied authorization under Rule 1.6(a) is your judgment. The list does not find it.
- A purpose in paragraph (b) is not a duty to disclose.
