| How AI is used | From the tool's prompts and sample outputs, list any output a user could copy into a paper for a proceeding, and whether the tool tells the user to disclose the tool, name it, and check citations and facts. Do not rewrite the tool. |
| What the lawyer must review | There is no single national order. Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 11(b) is the certification an attorney or unrepresented party gives by presenting a paper. The Eastern District of Texas order of 9 April 2025, for Judge Love, requires a certificate of generative artificial intelligence usage with the filing, and treats a filing without one as a certificate that generative artificial intelligence was not used. Formal Opinion 512 says lawyers must consult the court's local rules on this use. The lawyer decides which order applies and what warning the tool must give. |

## Checking plan

- What the AI does: From the tool's prompts and sample outputs, list any output a user could copy into a paper for a proceeding, and whether the tool tells the user to disclose the tool, name it, and check citations and facts. Do not rewrite the tool.
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 22 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Notes

- The Eastern District of Texas order is one judge's standing order. It is not a national rule.
- Rule 11 does not apply to disclosures and discovery requests, responses, objections, and motions under Rules 26 through 37.
