## Checking plan

**Source-by-source verification**

Advertising must not be false, misleading or deceptive, offensive or prohibited. A specialist claim needs the accreditation the rule requires.

- What the AI does: From the public screens and any promotion of the tool, list wording that states a speciality, a result, or who may use the tool. Do not rewrite the screen.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer decides whether the advertising is false, misleading or deceptive, offensive or prohibited, and whether any specialist claim may be made.
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. A solicitor or principal must ensure that any advertising, marketing or promotion in connection with the solicitor or law practice is not false, misleading or deceptive or likely to mislead or deceive, offensive, or prohibited by law.
2. A solicitor must not convey a false, misleading or deceptive impression of specialist expertise.
3. A solicitor must not advertise or authorise advertising that uses the words accredited specialist, or a derivative of those words, including post-nominals, unless the solicitor is a specialist accredited by the relevant professional association.
4. The lawyer decides whether the screen does any of those things. The marked list is not the published screen.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
