# How to use AI for legal marketing in Australia

> Marketing copy is still advertising. A tool can draft it. The firm checks the claim, the personal-injury limits, and the Australian Consumer Law.

## Check this before you rely on it

The Uniform Law regulators’ statement, the Law Society of New South Wales guide and Queensland Guidance Statement No. 37 apply to any client story you paste in. A testimonial the client did not give is not a drafting error. It is a false claim.

## Steps

1. **Read the advertising rules for the certificate you hold.** The conduct rules on advertising apply, including any personal-injury advertising limit in that state. A tool does not know which limit applies to the post. The Law Society of New South Wales guide treats that as the solicitor’s reading, not the model’s.
2. **Check every claim the tool wrote.** Outcomes, rankings, “we always” and names of clients are the usual failures. If the sentence is not true of this firm, it does not go out. The Uniform Law regulators’ statement does not move that check onto the vendor.
3. **Do not publish a misleading line.** The Australian Consumer Law prohibits misleading or deceptive conduct. An invented review, a guarantee of an outcome, or a price the firm does not charge is that conduct whether or not a tool drafted it. Queensland Guidance Statement No. 37 still bars putting a client’s confidential matter into the prompt to “make it specific”.

## Questions

**Is it allowed to use AI for legal marketing in Australia?**

Yes, for a draft the firm checks against the advertising rules and the Australian Consumer Law. The tool does not clear the post.

**What tools are used for legal marketing?**

This page does not list a specialist marketing product. Use an account the firm controls, and do not paste client matters into it.

**Can the tool invent a client result?**

No. A result that did not happen is a false claim. Delete it.
