# VCAT and generative AI

VCAT is a different forum from the Supreme Court and from the County Court. Look for VCAT’s own direction before you set a disclosure clause.

## Effective date

**Confirm with VCAT**

SC Gen 25 does not apply to VCAT merely because both sit in Victoria. Check the tribunal’s current direction rather than assuming the Supreme Court note applies.

## Disclosure checklist

Work through this against the instrument, not instead of it.

- Search VCAT’s current practice notes and directions for an AI rule.
- If none is published, do not invent one from SC Gen 25. Still verify citations and keep personal information out of a public tool.
- Record which direction you opened, and the date you opened it.

**Does the Supreme Court note bind VCAT?**

No. Confirm VCAT’s own direction.

**What if VCAT has not published a note?**

Do not borrow SC Gen 25 and call it VCAT’s rule. Verify the contents and protect personal information anyway, and record that you checked for a direction.

**What is the effective date?**

Only a date printed on a VCAT instrument. This page does not supply one.
